Adult Faith Sharing in Small Christian Communities

What is Adult Faith Sharing? What are Small Christian Communities?
When is the next program? When can I sign up for a group?

Faith Sharing can be defined as being aware of a moment of grace when God touched your life and sharing it with others. Faith sharing is done in a prayerful and reflective environment. The adult faith sharing groups, are also known as small christian communities and are a wonderful way for members to build the church community, to get to know other parishioners, to listen to their stories and to share one's own faith experiences.

Since the Fall of 2009, these small Christian community groups have met in the Fall and Lenten season for a period of six weeks each season. Many parishioners have participated in the groups and continue to express enthusiasm and interest for the upcoming program called: Why Catholic? A Journey Through the Catechism.

Each group has a facilitator and each participant is given a book which is a step-by-step guide to the session. After pondering the Catechism and Sacred Scripture individuals are invited to share moments of grace and to connect their faith with action. In this season of Lent the sessions will focus on Prayer and how God communicates with us. The sessions will also look at different forms of prayer, difficulties experienced in prayer and deeper insights into the Lord's Prayer.

The groups will meet once a week for a period of six weeks beginning the week of Feb. 20, 2012.

Sign-Up will be after the Masses on January 21 and 22, 2012; however, if you are unable to sign-up on that weekend or have questions please contract: Dorothy Ruggiero at d.ruggiero@saintmmparish.org or, 781-326-1071 x110.
